Purpose of Role:

The Sr. Supply Chain Analyst is accountable for providing critical analytics and market intelligence/research as required by the COE Manager, Strategic Sourcing Specialists and other SCM Mangers to facilitate effective strategic decisions.  They will be accountable for the development and management of business reports, internal and external performance metrics as defined by COE Manger.  The candidate is proactive, organized, results focused and provides a high level of customer service within SCM team and the business unit.  This position reports to the SCM Manager Center of Excellence. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Performs data analysis as required, under the direction of the COE Manager/Strategic Sourcing Specialist/Others:
    • Performs market research for key spend categories to collect intelligence on vendor markets
    • Assists in the development of vendor KPI’s and vendor scorecards
    • Consolidates and analyze data related to spend, demand, vendor performance, etc.
    • Develops and Monitors corporate SCM performance through KPI development
    • Develops quantitative models of business situations to facilitate business decisions
    • Others as required
  • Runs monthly reports and populates scorecards
  • Updates policies, processes and training documentation as required
  • Collects supply management performance metrics data from Corporate SCM and Business Units
  • Reports complex data in effective formants to facilitate effective decision making
  • Management of supply chain data (coding logic mapping and verification)
  • Creates Ad Hoc reports
  • Runs Ad Hoc and standard reports
  • Assists with special projects as required

 Education
  • B.Comm and/or B. Eng, Management Accounting(Financial Management), background is an advantage
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) would be an asset

 

Experience
  •  Minimum 7 years  spend analytics, supply management reporting,
  • Knowledge of SCM process and company structure
  • Advanced analytical thinking, cost modeling skills
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Ability to present complex data into visual and simple format to enable effective decision making
  • Excellent, time management, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Working knowledge of MS office applications in general,
  • Advanced MS Excel, Access, and/or Minitab skills
  • Working knowledge of reporting applications (e.g IBM Maximo, etc.)
  • Understanding of financial concepts
  • Ability to effectively manage concurrent multiple requirements.
  • Possesses a well-rounded understanding of the business at large
  • Proven experience in liaising with the business and stakeholders to understand and articulate business structure, policies, workflow, and business operations
  • Strong analysis, critical thinking, active listening and problem solving skills
    Strong interpersonal skills
