Purpose of Role:

Contribute to the success of MEG Energy Corp’s SAGD operation by supporting the supervisor and technical groups in providing administrative support.  Reporting to the Projects Site Manager, this position is responsible to administer the technical documentation and the data for cost and progress reporting while adhering to construction management procedures.  Ensure all requirements are properly addressed as per the MEG Energy’s policies, procedures and guidelines necessary for the safe and proper completion of all construction activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:      

  • Assist and support the supervisor to collect the daily progress report from the contractors

  • Issue the daily attendance and equipment template to the contractor

  • Assist and support the supervisor to collect report for the IWP issuance and close-out and transfer the information in the CAT (Construction Activity Tracking) database

  • Compile data from the CAT database and generate the 2 shift look ahead

  • Administer the contractor request for services, such as contractor site access accommodation, vehicle pass, fuel fob, radios, material gate passes

  • Administration of contractor kickoff meetings and checklist, and collection of project deliverables.

  • Compile Request for Common/Site Services information and generate a summary report for the supervisor

  • Provide assistance to the supervisor to collect the attendance sheets

  • Assist the supervisor to gather the daily activities information such as Play of the Day and daily site pictures

  • Provide assistance to the supervisor by tracking the CRF (Contractor Request Form) and issue a daily report

  • Provide assistance to administer the management of change of technical documentation.

  • Administer the issuance of the technical documentation as per the distribution matrix.

  • Administer the contractor request for soft revision and track the information in the Access database

  • Support the transit of documentation in the Site Document Control common inbox

  • Manage the Construction Management Team calendar

  • Manage orders to keep the Projects facilities functional which include but not limited to order the following: stationary, IT requirement, food and grocery, communication material

  • Promote effective business relationships and communications with contractors

  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities

  • Assist in continued development, implementation and maintenance of an appropriate suite of Projects construction management processes and procedures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution

  • 3-5 years of related experience in multi-discipline and cross-functional project teams
  • Field experience will be an asset

 

Skills and Knowledge:   

  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced, multi facet organization with changing priorities
  • Knowledge and understanding of project records, documents and procedures
  • Ability to Work with Microsoft Office suite
  • Understanding and working knowledge of databases
  • Must possess strong administration, and priority management, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proactive and capable of handling several tasks concurrently with attention to detail
  • Ability to be flexible and work independently
