PURPOSE OF ROLE:

 

The Document Control Coordinator is responsible for all document control aspects of assigned projects and for ensuring that the applicable documents are compliant and meet the business needs of the corporation.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

 

The Document Control Coordinator within MEG Energy’s Project group is responsible for the following:

  • Contributing to the success of MEG Energy’s SAGD operation by applying experience and expertise in Document Control in accordance with projects’ and business objectives.

 

Technical and Safety Governance:

  • Provide and demonstrate personal safety leadership in accordance with MEG Energy’s Environment Health and Safety Program;
  • Provide leadership in establishing a strong safety culture within the MEG Energy’s organization, vendors, service providers, and the contractors we engage with;
  • Ensures all formalized document control processes are followed for the assigned Project(s) including but not limited to;
    • numbering of documents;
    • concurrent engineering;
    • content and meta data turnover;
    • master document register management;
    • authentication;
    • work packaging (EWPs);
    • ECN change management;
    • management of governance documents (PMI);
    • Technical Deviation management.
  • Ensure that all document compliance requirements are understood and met by stakeholders (MEG specific and project specific requirements, records management, etc.).

  • Review critical engineering deliverables at key stages of the project to verify EP QC functions effective.

  • McLaren Training – On project adhoc support.

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years of related experience in Document Control

  • Experience using document management software such as McLaren

  • Experience using Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel

 

Skills and Knowledge

 

  • A strong understanding of the document life cycle

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritize and balance a variable workload

  • Strong communication, organizational and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
